As MP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan finally asks for a CBI probe into the Vyapam scam, the BJP government at the centre seems unfazed by allegations that the 47 deaths were linked to the scam.

Union Law Minister DV Sadananda Gowda today said there was no need for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the Vyapam scam and brushed it aside as a "silly issue".

"There is no need for PM Modi to answer to silly issues. State has initiated probe, deaths are matter of concern but law and order is a state subject," Gowda said when he was asked whether the PM would reply to the Vyapam deaths.
