What is the connection between Tashkent and Shastri? In 1966, the Soviets had moderated peace talks between India and Pakistan in the aftermath of the 1965 war. The Indian delegation was led by Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. The PM passed away immediately after the peace pact was signed, ostensibly of a heart attack.
