Hindalco case: CBI submits progress report

Just In: CBI submits sealed progress report to special court on statements made by former PM Manmohan Singh, Kumar Mangalam Birla in Hindalco case. The agency seeks two weeks time to complete its further probe, court fixes matter for February 19.

This particular case pertains to allocation of the Talabira 1 coal block in Odisha in 1994 to Indian Aluminium Company Ltd (INDAL), a company which was merged with Hindalco, part of the Aditya Birla Group, in 2007.
