Avadhnama vendors granted bail

Bail has been granted to two newspaper vendors of the Urdu daily
Avadhnama on a surety of Rs 7000 each.

The JJ Marg police in Mumbai booked a newspaper vendor for selling the January 17 issue of the Urdu daily Avadhnama, which carried a photo of the cover of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo with the controversial cartoon.

The court lashed out against the police asking, "How can you just pick up someone and put them in jail!"
