Cong rounds up the troops ahead of National Herald hearing
December 18, 2015  17:03
AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh told Prasanna D Zore/Rediff.com that all Congress MPs from the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha have been asked to assemble at the party headquarters at 24, Akbar Road, by 1 pm on Saturday. The court hearing on the National Herald case is scheduled at 3 pm.

Singh, however, said that the party leadership will decide only tomorrow if party MPs and office bearers will march from AICC headquarters to Patiala House Court along with Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi.

When asked if he would lead the solidarity march, Singh said, "Let's see."
He said the Congress party has not organised any march yet and has not asked Congress supporters to be a part of this solidarity march. "But there can be a spontaneous response from the people," he said.

The Hindu reports that Sonia Gandhis legal team, led by Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, wants to stay quiet until the proceedings were over.
