Details of the manner in which Sheena Bora was killed on April 24, 2012, have now been revealed by the Mumbai police after hours of interrogation of Indrani Mukerjea's driver,  Shyam Rai, Indrani and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna.

What we know so far is this:

The day before the murder, on April 23, the three did a recce of the place where they would dump Sheena's body, which the police say indicates a premeditated murder and not a crime of passion.

The confessional statement of Indrani's driver Shyam Rai, led to Indrani's arrest, and now media reports say the driver may turn approver, which means he will give evidence against the other two accused and will get off with a lighter sentence if the charges stick.

The driver has allegedly told the police that Sanjeev Khanna strangled Sheena, after she had been sedated, possibly by an injection. The trio then put her body in a suitcase and kept it overnight in Peter and Indrani Mukerjea's garage in the Worli apartment.

They then took the suitcase with her body to Pen in Raigad district, smashed her face to prevent identification and dumped it down a slope.
The decomposing remains were found a month later by villagers. At the time, the police dismissed it as an unclaimed body.
