Bombay High Court soon to be renamed as Mumbai High Court

The Bombay High Court will be renamed soon, following a demand from the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party MPs, Union Law and Judiciary Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said.

The Sena welcomed the move. "We have recently received a letter from the minister saying that his ministry has prepared the proposal for the change of name of Bombay and Madras high courts. We are hopeful that the decision will be soon taken by the government by making requisite changes in the existing laws," said Arvind Sawant, Sena MP from south Mumbai.
