ISIS releases 216 Yazidi captives, Kurdish official says

ISIS on Wednesday released 216 Yazidi captives in Iraq's Kirkuk province, according to an official with northern Iraq's semi-autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government.

It wasn't immediately clear what motivated the release, said the KRG official, Nuri Osman.

Kurdish Peshmerga forces received the released captives, who were then sent to Irbil, the KRG's capital, Osman said.
