India evacuates stranded nationals from Yemen amidst heavy shelling

Even as the Indian government continues to evacuate stranded Indians from Yemen from the port of Aden, the processes were hampered today owing to heavy shelling. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj tweeted, "There is heavy shelling in Aden.The ship is anchored 5-6 km off the coast. Indian nationals are being taken by boat to board the ship there." Navy officials said that rescue operations had become difficult as Huthi tribals had closed in on Aden port.
