BJP MP sparks controversy over Madrassas comment

A fresh controversy has erupted in Uttar Pradesh after a Bharatiya Janata Party leader reportedly issued a hate speech in which he linked madrassas to terrorism. Swami Sakshiji Maharaj, a sitting Lok Sabha MP from Unnao consitituency in Uttar Pradesh, has reportedly labelled the madarsas as a hub of terror and that 'love jihad' prospers through such institutions. Maharaj allegedly said, "These madrassas need to come under government control and a probe should be initiated into their activities." He added that the madarsas are being run by the help of funds channelled from the Middle East.
