Kashmir floods: BSNL exchange under 20-feet water in Srinagar

BSNL to IBN: Services are fine in all areas except Kashmir valley. Worst hit is Srinagar where our exchange is in 20 feet deep water. We are looking at restoring a couple of areas near the airport tonight. We have sent 10 VSAT towers from Bangalore to Srinagar which will help us get connectivity in a few more areas from tomorrow. We will look at restoring emergency mobile services across the city in 3 to 4 days.

Over 47,000 people have been rescued so far by the armed forces, but lakhs remain stranded.
