'Space science plays vital role in common man's life'

Space science in India has become more relevant now as it plays a vital role in the life of the common man in various ways, an example of which was early prediction of 'Hudhud' cyclone in Andhra Pradesh, ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan said today.

"The latest benefit from space programmes was the early prediction of devastating 'Hudhud' cyclone in Andra Pradesh, that enabled authorities take precautionary steps to avoid damage,", he said at a function organised by the state government at the secretariat to honour scientists behind the 'Mars Mission.'
