'They shaved my head, said everyone from northeast must leave'

Even as the police ruled out a racist attack angle in the attack on two men from the northeast in Gurgaon, one of the victims said that the people who attacked them said that everyone from the northeast must leave the city.

"They shaved my head. Are people from the Northeast not Indians," the victim said.The victim's friend said that he was taken by a group of people on the behest of taking him to a party but beat him up later, reports IBN Live.

"They were called to have a party and for a drink and then they were beaten up," the victim's friend said.

PTI adds that the two men, Aayug and Alato, were allegedly attacked by eight persons at Sikanderpur in Gurgaon last night. The victims sustained severe injuries and have been admitted to Gurgaon Civil Hospital for treatment, police said.

The victims were living in a rented room in Sikanderpur village. While, Alato works at private firm here, Aayug is an unemployed youth, police said.

The medical examination of the victims is being conducted and an FIR would be lodged on the basis of the medical report. The culprits are yet to be identified, police said.
