The US inflicted heavy damage on ISIL as it bombarded several positions of the terrorist outfit near Kobani as part of its effort to prevent it from taking over the key Syrian city on the Turkish border. Using bomber and fighter aircraft, US conducted 14 airstrikes.

Initial reports indicate the strikes successfully struck 19 ISIL buildings, two ISIL command posts, three ISIL fighting positions, three ISIL sniper positions, one ISIL staging location, and one ISIL heavy machine gun, the US Central Command said.

These airstrikes are designed to interdict ISIL reinforcements and resupply and prevent ISIL from massing combat power on the Kurdish held portions of Kobani, it said. "Indications are that airstrikes have continued to slow ISIL advances, but that the security situation on the ground in Kobani remains tenuous," CENTCOM added.

Accusing Pakistan of fomenting trouble in India by perpetrating terror, BJP today said some elements in the neighbouring country have a "negative mindset" and are clearly "anti-peace and anti-humanity".

Reacting to former Pakistani military ruler General Pervez Musharraf's anti-India rant that Pakistan needs to "incite" those "fighting" in Kashmir, the party said that instead of promoting peace, that country is an impediment to it and such attitude has isolated it from the world community.

"In Pakistan, some people are against their own country and it is due to their attitude that Pakistan is being isolated across the world. Such people measure Pakistan's growth through the terrorism it spreads. Such negative mindset is anti-peace and against humanity and is putting Pakistan in problems," BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

11:04   We must trust our citizens: Modi
PM Narendra Modi speaking at the launch of the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shramev Jayate scheme

He says white collar jobs are considered good. If a well-dressed person rings our doorbell we welcome him but if its a poor person, do we do the same?

"We are all aware of Satyamev Jayate, Shramev Jayate holds equal importance as Satyamev Jayate for the development of the nation.

"We don't respect manual labourers. We do not give adequate importance to manual labour and we need to change our perspective.

"Initiatives taken for development of entrepreneurship for the industry and ensuring labour welfare, will help boost confidence of youth.

"Biggest problem is that we who are in govt think nobody knows anything better than us, this is wrong, we must trust our citizens.

Inspector Raj... we have heard this since our childhood and we thought it is for policemen only but then we realised its a lot more. Inspector Raj is a big problem. I believe e-governance is effective and economical governance. It is also important for transparency."
