Neil Patrick Harris has been announced as the new host of next year's Oscars ceremony. The How I Met Your Mother star will be hosting the 87th Oscars show, the show's producers confirmed. The actor also posted a video on his Twitter feed, where he says, "I'm in!" He continued, "Nice," then he goes to look at a bucket list, where at the bottom he circles "Host the Oscars.' Already crossed off the list was "have children" and "meet the president."
Harris, 41, also released a statement saying, "It is truly an honour and a thrill to be asked to host this year's Academy Awards. I grew up watching the Oscars and was always in such awe of some of the greats who hosted the show. To be asked to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Carson, Billy Crystal, Ellen DeGeneres, and everyone else who had the great fortune of hosting is a bucket list dream come true."
