Apple unveils new iPads, announces Apple Pay launch date

Apple kicked off its new product event on Thursday with the announcement that its new payments system, Apple Pay, will launch on Monday.

At the event in Cupertino, California, Apple introduced updated operating software and unveiled the new iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2, touting it as the "world's thinnest tablet."Phil Schiller, Apple's senior VP of worldwide marketing, said the iPad Air 2 features a new anti-reflective coating - a first for a tablet.

The new iPad Air 2 also features an 8 MP iSight camera and a new-generation A8X chip, which has 3 billion transistors.
