Nawaz Sharif addresses leaders at SAARC summit

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif addressed the crowd at the SAARC summit today right after the Nepal PM inaugurated the summit. Sharif in his address expressed hope and said that cooperation was very important to Pakistan. The PM said, "Pakistan attaches high importance to SAARC and would like to congratulate Nepal for this effort.'  He added, "Pakistan stands for peace, prosperity and progress and the theme at the summit reflects our common desire in reaching out to get a win-win situation."

Sharif added, "Instead of fighting each other, we need to fight poverty." He emphasised the need to build bonds of trust so that the region could be rid of disputes.
