One of London's main railway stations has been evacuated after a fire broke out on a train at a platform. Passengers were ordered to leave Charing Cross after hearing a 'screech and a bang' prompted a blaze in the front carriage of one of the trains inside. Firefighters were called to the mainline station, with five fire engines dispatched to the scene. The blaze is believed to have caused smoke damage to a live wire and a hotel next door.

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.
