'RJD, JD-U should merge'

Bihar Transport Minister Ramai Ram on Monday said that Lalu Prasad Yadav's RJD and the state's ruling JD-U should merge as one party to defeat the BJP in the next assembly polls in 2015.

"Instead of a grand alliance of RJD and JD-U, both the parties should merge as one to defeat the BJP," he said.

The minister, who is also senior JD-U leader told newspersons that both the parties have the same ideology of socialism and secularism.
