Modi's go-getter defence minister breaks protocol to meet Javdekar

Breaking protocol, defence minister Manohar Parrikar today visited the Paryavaran Bhavan (Environment ministry) to meet minister Prakash Javdekar.

Officials gently reminded Parrikar that he was senior to Javdekar in the council of ministers, but the defence minister is believed to have said that Javdekar was in fact senior to him in the party.

"I respect him. Moreover certain clearances for the defence ministry are pending, so it's better to go to him," Parrikar said.

Thrilled at the sudden arrival at his office, Javdekar's office is believed to have called up Marathi news channels.

Parrikar has always been a Modi favourite for his administrative abilities and clean image.
