LIVE! SC stays death sentence of 1993 blasts' convict Yakub Memon

The Supreme Court stays the execution of death row convict Yakub Abdul Razak Memon in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. The Home ministry in the UPA government had recommended to President Pranab Mukherjee that the mercy petition of Yakub Memon, sentenced to death for the 1993 Mumbai blasts, be rejected. The recommendation President Pranab Mukherjee in March was based on the Maharashtra government's suggestion that the petition be rejected.
