The funeral of Officer Rafael Ramos, one of two police officers shot dead last Saturday as they sat in their patrol car in Brooklyn, is under way at Christ Tabernacle Church in Glendale, Queens in New York.

Many thousands of police officers and other mourners, including Vice President Joseph R Biden, are attending the funeral, inside and outside the church, reports The New York Times.

He will be part of your life for the entirety of your life, Biden tells Ramos's son.
