On his first official tour of Tamil Nadu after taking over as party chief, BJP President Shah will arrive in the state on Saturday on a two-day visit to the state on which the party has set its sights for making inroads ahead of 2016 assembly elections.
Shah is scheduled to address a public rally at Maraimalainagar near the city on Saturday and meet BJP workers on Sunday, party sources said. Shah's visit comes at a time when the BJP's state unit is fancying its chances of putting up a better show in the next assembly polls due in 2016, riding on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
