How union ministers got in touch with the PM

PMO officials in New Delhi used satellite phone to get in touch with Dr Manmohan Singh to update him on the militant attack in Jammu.

The coordination between New Delhi and Frankfurt is done by three top officials in the South Block in Delhi. The PMO is connected to the PM by internet, SMS and Skype and video satellite phones, as well.

The four-digit secret phones installed in the chambers of Union Ministers were busy today.

Eight senior union ministers wanted to know whether the prime minister directed P Chidambaram or A K Antony to convene a Cabinet Committee on Security to discuss the Jammu militant attack.
