Veteran journalist, Chairman of Kasturi & Sons Limited and Publisher of The Hindu newspaper, N Ram, on Thursday condemned the sexual assault incident involving Tehelka magazine editor Tarun Tejpal, and said the latter is terribly wrong in saying the BJP is prejudiced against him.

"Tarun Tejpal is terribly wrong in saying BJP is prejudiced against him. It is totally unacceptable. He has brought partisan politics into it," Ram said.

"Tejpal saying politics is behaviour of a desperate man who has been cornered," he added.

On Tehelka managing editor Shoma Chaudhury's resignation, Ram said: "She is a well-informed person, she knew the amended law, so there is no excuse for her to not have taken action.

"This is disgraceful, there will be legal repercussions. Tehelka is in trouble,' he added.

Hailing the ''brave'' woman journalist, Ram said her statement is very precise and she is being supported by everyone.

"The woman journalist is an excellent reporter, her statement is very precise. And, she is brave too. She has everybody''s support,' he added.
