Almost-forgotten gangster Abu Salem gets seven years imprisonment in teh 2001 fake passport case. 

A special court for CBI cases on Monday convicted the  extradited gangster Abu Salem in connection with the 2001 fake passport case.

The court convicted Salem under different Sections of IPC for obtaining a passport under a fictitious name in 2001 from Kurnool district.

CBI senior public prosecutor T. V. Ramana said Salem was found guilty and convicted of charges under Sections 120B (criminal conspiracy), 419 (cheating by impersonation), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (using as genuine a forged document) of the Indian Penal Code.
