Seeking to hit at the Aam Aadmi Party's probity plank, Congress today alleged that its founder Arvind Kejriwal had attempted to keep with himself government funds to the tune of Rs nine lakh.

"Aam Aadmi Party may perhaps be the first party whose founder was accused of trying to retain government funds to the tune of Rs nine lakh", Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.

Ahmed, who is in charge of party affairs in Delhi, said Kejriwal was forced to deposit the money with the government, which he did under protest by sending a cheque to the Prime Minister's Office.
