UP public service commission cancels results

The Uttar Pradesh public service commission today cancelled results of examinations, declared on the basis of a controversial reservation policy, evoking sharp reactions from pro-reservation students who went on the rampage accusing the ruling Samajwadi Party of "betrayal".

In an official release, the UPPSC said results of"combined civil service/upper subordinate examinations (mains) declared on July 04, 2013" stood cancelled and "revised results" would be declared "at the earliest". The commission said that the decision was taken at a meeting held yesterday.
