Coalgate: SC to examine CBI's status report today
July 10, 2013  10:32
The Supreme Court is due to examine the status report filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the coal scam on Wednesday.

According to reports, the apex court will also consider the Centre's affidavit on autonomy for the central probe agency. The highest court had on July 03 asked the Centre to come out with a law before the next hearing (today), to insulate the CBI from external influence.

The central probe agency had on Monday approached the Supreme Court for modifications of the latters order barring it from sharing the Coalgate probe report with any government agency or officers.

It also sought lifting of restrictions imposed on it from changing the 33-member investigation team.
