Special status has only harmed J-K: BJP

The BJP today said special status given toJammu and Kashmir has only harmed the state and its people instead of serving any purpose.

"The sooner this status goes, better it would be for the state," BJP state chief Shamsher Singh Mahnas told the media during a function occasion of the 129th birth anniversary of Sher-e-Duggar Prem Nath Dogra.

"It is the root cause of unemployment in the state as no outsider can purchase land and set industry or big plants which can obviously provide jobs to thousands of youth," he claimed.

Manhas appealed to party activists to mobilise public opinion against the special status given to the state.
