Coal minister: Don't agree with CAG loss figures
August 17, 2012  16:18
Coal minister Sriprakash Jaiswal disses the CAG report on coal allocation tabled before Parliament today and says there cannot be a more transparent system of allocation. Addressing a press conference, Jaiswal said there can be no link with the 2G scam as the allocation process and government policy were perfect.

He said the ministry did not agree with the CAG report on estimation of losses of Rs 1.86 lakh crore. "When blocks are not operative, how can the losses be calculated," he points out. He said whatever decision was taken was okayed by the law ministry. Nobody could have made a better policy for coal block allocation.
