Our sources in Delhi tell us that the buzz in North Block is that the new Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's big turquoise ring has enabled him to make the monumental transition from a sub-inspector to the union home minister. Shinde began wearing the ring after he was shunted out as Andhra Pradesh governor.

Three new faces are set to join North Block by the middle of August.
