So then, at the end of 13 days of a historic anti-graft movement, both the government and Team Anna have been calling the results win-win. The otherwise strident Arvind Kejriwal's speech at the Ramlila Ground today as well as Anna Hazare's were studies in humility -- honest and irreproachable. PM Manmohan Singh yesterday called the unanimous vote (desk-thumping) on the Lokpal resolution, a victory of the people's democracy.
So what has Anna Hazare really given the nation, apart from the tenuous promise of a stronger Lokpal bill? Read this post in the Wall Street Journal.

There has been saturation coverage by television channels of Anna Hazare's fast
reporting every twist and turn in the protest saga 24x7 for the last about two weeks. But has it been critical and unbiased or one-sided in approval?
By and large, media experts feel that television coverage was biased in favour of the 74-year-old activist, uncritical in its sweep and adulatory sometimes.
There was a lone voice of support for news television channels from noted journalist and Editor and Managing Director of Pioneer newspaper Chandan Mitra, who feels it was not the case.
"By its very nature, television is a very biased medium. Whenever a big issue or a campaign like this crops up, news channels try to be on top of it. This is the trend that prevails everywhere," says Bhaskar Rao, director, Centre for
Media Studies. "But unfortunately in the Anna Hazare case, I think TV
channels have overdone it," Rao said.
Rahman, a Libyan explosives expert, was killed on August 22 in Machi Khel village in North Waziristan tribal region of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, activist and team member Medha Patkar dismissed suggestions that Team Anna was divided.
"We don't have any differences among us. The reports that I and Prashant Bhushan went to negotiate with the government because we are moderate are totally untrue," she said. "First of all that day it was decided that I and Prashant Bhushan will go as different people engaged in different activities," she said.
Patkar said she would not have joined the negotiating team if she had any inclination that it will lead to speculation about differences among the members. "Our views are very clear. We take decisions unitedly. We consider Arvind and his team as real core team."
Back to the Anna Hazare story for a bit. Interesting read on bbc.co.uk: Is Indian media driving the anti-corruption protests?
Remember, yesterday, Arvind Kejriwal and today, Anna Hazare thanked the media for its support.
"We have decided to give the youths a second chance. Cases against all the youths arrested on charges of stone-pelting, but not involved in arson, registered during last year's disturbance will be withdrawn," Omar said. He said the criminal record of the youths will be cleared and they will get another chance to build a better future.
A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has ordered the confiscation of former president Pervez Musharraf's property for his failure to appear before it in
the 2007 case of former premier Benazir Bhutto killing, court officials said.
The Federal Investigation Agency had requested the court to summon Musharraf, who was President at the time of the assassination, and has refused a request to cooperate in the investigation into Bhutto's death.
Following the lack of cooperation by Musharraf, he was named an "absconding accused", FIA prosecutor Chaudhry Zulfiqar said.

Rebels were working today to get the Libyan capital up and running again as calm prevailed for a second day, despite sporadic gunfire overnight and thegruesome find of piles of charred bodies. As rebel officials pleaded for funds, the Arab League at a special meeting in Cairo early today urged the UN security Council to unlock billions of dollars in Libyan assets and property.
Several explosions and machine-gun fire rattled Tripoli overnight, but it was unclear if those responsible were fighters loyal to Muammar Gaddafi or rebels celebrating the takeover of the capital a week ago.
Details on the two children who helped Anna break his fast.
Ikrah (8) and Simran took centrestage at the Ramlila Maidan today when they gave a glass of tender coconut water to Anna Hazare for ending his
fast after 12 days.
Ikrah, a fourth standard student in a local school in Daryaganj, sat with Anna for nearly an hour. Shy as she was facing TV cameras for the first time, Ikrah tried to repeatedly hide behind her uncle and father who accompanied her to the dais.
It was her uncle who held her and made her speak to people who posed a volley of questions to the child. "Annnaji told me to study well," she mumbled to her uncle Ahmed who repeated it before the cameras.
The kid's father Shakimullah and the uncle have been with Hazare since he began his first fast in April demanding a strong Lokpal. Shakimullah said he was told only in the morning by Team Anna that his daughter would be among the two kids who would give Anna coconut water to end his hunger strike.
Dr Trehan tells NDTV that Anna's body is an enigma and wondered out aloud how he does it (kept the fast).
Remember, Anna, at 74, has been on fast for 12 days, addressed crowds in hot and humid Delhi, got soaked in the rain after his release from jail during the victory parade to Ramlila, and the immense stress of getting the Jan Lokpal bill into Parliament. Dr Trehan also says there is no indication that Anna took electrolytes.
It is salutary, whichever way you look at it.

Just in: Dr Naresh Trehan attending to Anna Hazare at the Medanta Medicity says the Gandhian is very dehydrated and will take at least two to three days to recover, but his blood pressure and heart rate is normal.
Big relief for the Congress in particular, because if anything had happened to Anna on their beat...
Justice Hegde adds that: "I am sure they (Parliament) will understand the necessity for quick enactment because that will bring glory for them (Parliamentarians) also."
Hegde was a former Supreme Court Judge, who was part of the joint Lokpal bill drafting panel. It may be remembered that he was extremely critical of the methods adopted by Team Anna towards the end of the fast -- gheraos and name-calling -- and had said he did not feel a part of the team any more.
Earlier in the day, team Anna member Justice Santosh Hegde saluted Parliament for rising to the occasion and giving its nod to key elements of Jan Lokpal bill, but cautioned that people should "not expect a miracle" as enacting the legislation will "take its own time". He was also against exerting "more pressure" on Parliament on the issue now.
Reactions
The Guardian, UK, writes: Mr Hazare does not have, or aspire to, anything like Gandhi's stature. He does not confront, as Gandhi did, his followers' complicity in social evils, an aspect of his career underlined by subtitle - His Struggle With India - of a recent book on Gandhi. But Mr Hazare has found an issue - and is exerting a leverage which on balance must be good for India.
Reactions...
British Parliamentarian Lord Swaraj Paul: Anna Hazare has awakened India as no one else to the evil of corruption and deserves full admiration.
The intense debate in the parliament yesterday showed the strength of Indian democracy. The speeches of Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and the leaders of opposition Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley were of the highest caliber. All in all, the success of people's power is a great milestone for Indian democracy. I hope the promises made in parliament to deal with corruption are followed through.
Reactions to the Anna Hazare movement...
Leading author Patrick French: "A fast unto death is a touchy subject in India because of the memory of Mahatma Gandhi, who used the tactic against
the British. One thing successive viceroys and prime ministers particularily feared was the popular uprising that would quickly follow if he died on their watch..."

power of the people and of the Indian democracy.
If you haven't watched the Parliament debates yesterday, here are the uncorrected transcripts from the Rajya Sabha.
Quick takes:
Hazare on the commercialisation of education: Many people have commercialised education. They have opened shops. Children of poor people also should get education. This sector also needs reforms.
On Parliament: Even if the Jan Lokpal Bill is fully adopted, we have to continue to carry the flame of this struggle for change. I am confident that Parliament will not reject these demands. Even if it happens, people's Parliament will not reject these...The fight has just begun.
Anti-Constitution movement: Through this agitation we have also proved that people's parliament is supreme than the Parliament in Delhi. Ambedkar
has inspired us. He enacted the constitution. We have to fight for them."
Decentralisation of power: Real power should wrest with gram sabhas. "The gram sabhas should have the power to dismiss gram panchayats if they spend money without the former's permission.
Reactions coming in: Sri Sri Ravishankar says this is the beginning of a new, resurgent India. Social activists have woken up MPs. Somebody had to take the lead and the middle-class took the lead as they are the most affected in this country.
If you've just joined us, Anna Hazare broke his 12-day anti-graft fast at 10 am.
Speaking on the occasion Anna said that the people's Parliament is bigger than
the "Parliament in Delhi". This is exactly what the PM said yesterday, after the Lokpal resolution was passed.
Hazare said that is why the Parliament had to listen to people's Parliament. "This movement has created a faith that the country can be rid of corruption and we can go ahead with implementing laws and the Constitution made by Dr B R Ambedkar," he said.
"It's a historic occasion because it is a win-win situation for Indian democracy and for all stakeholders," party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said.
On a question whether the government had to "bow down" under pressure from civil society, Singhvi said there are occasions in history when "we have to move away from binary win-loss equations".
Singhvi said, "We should applaud the fact that all participants rose to the occasion to engage in constructive and concrete nitty-gritty of law making first before the standing committee and then again before parliament".
Anna Hazare has been driven straight to Medanta Medicity run by eminent cardiologist Dr Naresh Trehan who was attending to him along with his team during his entire period of fast.
Hazare will stay in the hospital for two-three days. "I have only suspended my agitation. I will not rest until all the changes that I look to are achieved," he said to a thunderous applause from thousands of his supporters waving the
tricolour and shouting slogans like 'Anna Hazare Zindabad'.
There is no real idea of the actual numbers at the Ramlila ground, but it is indeed a sea of humanity, terrible cliche though that may be. Tricolours waving, people cheering, a sense of closure for the people, most of who took a break from work, or their routine, to be part of the movement. Yesterday, Lalu thanked Navin Jindal for winning a case in the SC that allowed citizens to fly the national flag.
Anna says this movement is an example for the world, but there is no sense of chest beating triumpalism. Just humility at the fact that it was because of the people that India has been able to reach this historic anti-graft moment. Anna has also been careful to reiterate over and over again how important Dr Ambdekar's Constitution is to this country and that at no time did they want it amended.
Now Anna begins his thanksgiving speech. Basically, thanks the same people, organisations, that Arvind Kejriwal before him did.
Even after a 12-day fast, the 74-year old Gandhian, stands and addresses the people without a trace of fatigue. Anna asks people to move away from dias. Kiran Bedi says there is no space for people to stand, let alone sit.
Kejriwal too requests people to sit.
Kejriwal: Calls for a victory celebrations at India Gate. One law will not end corruption -- we have to make sure we neither give nor take bribes.
Asks the people to take the oath with him.
Kejriwal: Freedom does not mean that you vote and then your leader forgets you for five years.
I salute Babasaheb Ambedkar but even in his dreams he must have never thought that the leaders of this country would be black money racketeers. We salute the Constitution, it's the best in the world and we want to say we have never said we want to change it.
Kejriwal's long list of thanks is still not done. He has gone through the list of Parliament, Parliamentarians, Delhi police, Delhi Municipal Corporation, people who went on fast, volunteers, the bhajan party...
He says the Delhi police joined the supporters after their duty in plain clothes.
He also says all this was possible because people opened their hearts. Neither Anna nor I have the resources on money for something like this. Thank you for all your support. The media too has made this a part of their legacy.
We thank the media. Now, he says he respects the Parliament.
Incidentally, yesterday, when the Lok Sabha witnessed the "historical" Lokpal debate, a certain MP was missing. Read
As Kejriwal continues with his vote of thanks, early this morning, a roaring crowd greeted Anna Hazare at Ramlila Maidan as he emerged on he dais to break his fast. Clad in his trademark white dhoti-kurta and Gandhi cap,
Hazare came to the stage at 9:30 am from his tent and waved to te crowds and chanted 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', 'Vande Mataram' and 'Inquilab Zindabad'.
A visibly weak 74-year-old Hazare had trouble walking as he walked, with the fast launched on August 16 for a strong Lokpal apparently a toll on his health.
Sitting cross-legged and with folded hands, he listened to Mahatma Gandhi's favourite hymn 'Raghupati Raghava Rajaram' even as several children joined him on the stage. He was also seen chatting with his close associates Manish Sisodia and Kiran Bedi.
Kejriwal thanks the volunteers who stayed up the night and made sure the 12-day fast went on without a hitch.
Thanks Dr Trehan and the team of the doctors who attended to Anna.
Arvind Kejriwal takes the stage at Ramlila. A thanksgiving ceremony of sorts...
He thanks the PM for accepting Anna's three conditions.
Thanks the people for supporting the movement against corruption.
He says the Parliament debated on the issue for the whole day after convening a special session and the team is thankful to the MPs. It would not have been possible without the support of the leaders.
He thanks the people for being despite all odds.
As victory celebrations begin across the country, Anna Hazare says it's still half a victory. Incidentally, Anna will remain at Ramlila for a few hours after he ends his fast, before heading to Dr Naresh Trehan's Medanta Medicity.
A Team Anna member said the 74-year-old Gandhian will go to Medanta Medicity in Haryana's Gurgaon soon after he breaks his fast.
Doctors were concerned about his health as his fast entered the 12th day yesterday with his internal organs getting affected.
Hazare had lost at least 7.5 kg since August 16 when he sat on a hunger strike for a strong Lokpal Bill. He now weighs 64.5 kg.
