India's top wrestlers Bajrang Punia, Sakshi Malik and Vinesh Phogat, who were detained by the Delhi police and removed from their Jantar Mantar protest site, reached Haridwar on Tuesday to immerse their hard-earned medals into River Ganga followed by a hunger strike "until death" at India Gate.

The wrestlers broke into tears clinching their Olympic and World Championship medals ahead of immersing them into river Ganga and were consoled by their family members.

On Sunday, the Delhi police detained Malik along with World Championships bronze winner Vinesh Phogat and another Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia and later filed FIRs against them for violation of law and order, as dramatic scenes unfolded at the protest site at Jantar Mantar.

Unprecedented scenes of police dragging the Olympic and world championships medal-winning players were witnessed when the wrestlers and their supporters breached the security cordon ahead of their march towards the new Parliament building for the planned women's 'Mahapanchayat'.

The wrestlers had been camping in New Delhi since April 23 demanding action against Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has denied any wrongdoing.

Singh has been stripped of his administrative powers but the wrestlers are seeking his arrest over allegations of sexual harassment against female wrestlers.
