Congress leader Rahul Gandhi holds on to his sense of humour amid the crisis over his conviction. After meeting Congress MPs in Parliament, a meeting headed by party chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi helped Kharge down a few stairs. He then quipped with a smile on his face, "If I touch you now, they say I'm wiping my nose on your back. Utter nonsense. Have you seen that? That I am helping you over there, they're saying that I'm wiping my nose on you."

It may be recollected that BJP IT-Cell chief Amit Malviya had claimed that former Union minister Jitendra Singh Alwar had tied Rahul's shoelaces during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Alwar clarified that he was tying his own shoelaces, and not Rahul Gandhi's and also threatened threatened to take legal action against Malviya.
