Olga Tellis conferred Dinu Randive award for journalism

Veteran journalist Olga Tellis on Friday received the Dinu Randive Memorial Award for her exemplary contribution in the field of journalism spanning over five decades. 

Tellis was honoured with the award at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh in the presence of veteran journalist Kumar Ketkar. 

The award, in memory of senior journalist and freedom fighter Dinu Ranadive who passed away on June 16, 2020, is given every year to one senior journalist who has made path-breaking and exemplary contributions in the media field. 

The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a memento. 

 The selection committee for the award was chaired by Dr Bhalchandra Mungekar, former Rajya Sabha MP and vice chancellor of Mumbai University, and comprised Mumbai Press Club chairman Gurbir Singh, senior journalists Haaris Shaikh and Prakash Mahadik. 

Tellis's career in journalism spans five decades, and she has worked in publications such as Sunday, Observer of Business and Politics, Blitz and the Asian Age.
