Kerala govt withdraws Rahul's PA, driver

The government of Kerala withdraws two personal staff of former Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi, allotted by the state. In an order issued by the Joint Secretary of General Administration -- the personal assistant Ratheesh Kumar K R and the driver Muhammad Rafi are relieved of their duties. Ratheesh Kumar and Muhammad Rafi have been asked to return their identity cards.

The Wayanad MP was disqualified from Lok Sabha earlier this year after he was convicted by a Surat court in a 2019 criminal defamation case. 
 
I was the first person to be given a criminal sentence for defamation and maximum punishment to be disqualified from the parliament," Rahul told a meet in US last week.
