Rahul Gandhi speaking at Stanford University, US on his idea of India. "I have a completely different concept of India. I don't see India the way they do. They see India as a top-down centralised system, whereas I see India as a diverse nation with multiple cultures, religions, and languages. I see it as a decentralised system.

"While we were walking in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, we had no force; the force was on the other side. The BJP had the police, institutions, media, and social media.

"All the force at the disposal of the Modi government could do nothing. The more they tried to apply force, the less it worked.

"Power comes when you get close to the truth. They have the force, but they don't have power."

During his three-city US tour, Gandhi took a swipe at the ruling BJP government, saying it is "threatening" the people and "misusing" the country's agencies. Gandhi also said the BJP and the RSS are controlling all the instruments of politics in India. He said that the normal tools that have historically been used in politics were not working anymore.
