Odisha cop who shot state health minister, sacked

Assistant sub-inspector Gopal Krishna Das, who allegedly killed Odisha health minister Naba Das on Sunday, has been dismissed from service on Monday, said Rahul Jain, superintendent of police Jharsuguda.

The accused is under the police custody now and will be forwarded to the court for further police remand, said crime branch officials.

"The investigation of the case is continuing,' it said.

The state crime branch team also seized one 9mm pistol and 3 rounds of live ammunition and a mobile handset of Gopal Krushna Das.

The firearm, and ammunitions will be sent for ballistic examination and opinion, said crime branch. -- ANI
