Case against WFI chief today: Delhi police to SC

The Supreme Court begins hearing petition by wrestlers seeking registration of the FIR against WFI president Brij Bhushan. The Delhi Police tells the court that they will register an FIR. 

SG Tushar Mehta apprises the Supreme Court that the Delhi Police will register an FIR by today evening. Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal urges the court to issue a direction to provide safety to woman wrestlers, under the monitoring of a retired judge.

 SG Tushar Mehta, appearing for Delhi Police, says that all these concerns can be addressed by the police. 

Top wrestlers, including Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat, are protesting at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding that the government makes public the findings of the oversight panel that investigated sexual harassment allegations against the WFI chief.
