SC allows BCCI to change its constitution

The Supreme Court allows the BCCI to amend its constitution.

The court says, "We are of the considered view that the amendment would not dilute the original objective. We accept the proposed amendment. "Amendment proposed by BCCI doesn't detract from spirit of our original judgment and is accepted."

The Supreme Court was hearing the matter of changing BCCI rules relating to the "cooling off" period for the president, secretary and other office bearers.

BCCI's proposed change in constitution accepted by Supreme Court, clears way for extension of Sourav Ganguly as the president of the BCCI and Jay Shah, as the secretary.
