Former Chinese president Jiang Zemin dies

Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin has died. He was 96.
Chinese state media reported that Jiang Zemin died from leukemia and multiple organ failure in Shanghai at 12:13 pm today, the official Xinhua news agency said.

Jiang was handpicked to lead China after the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, serving as president from 1993 to 2003.
