Congress leader Jairam Ramesh tells NDTV that the words used by Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot while talking about Sachin Pilot, were unexpected.

"Some words used in the interview were unexpected. Many were surprised. The Congress leadership will discuss how to resolve this. We are a family, and the Congress needs both an experienced leader like Ashok Gehlot and an energetic youth leader like Sachin Pilot," Congress leader Jairam Ramesh told NDTV.

He added: "Even I am surprised by the words used (by Gehlot)."

There are some differences that will be resolved. There is no climate of fear in our party. People say whatever comes to their mind. The High Command is not dictatorial," Ramesh had said in a statement.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot dubbed his former deputy Sachin Pilot a 'gaddar' (traitor) on Thursday and said he cannot replace him as he had revolted against the Congress in 2020 and tried to topple the government.

Pilot hit back saying it is unbecoming of someone like Gehlot's stature to use such language and and added such mud-slinging would not help and it was the duty of everyone in the organisation to strengthen the party to help bring a Congress government again in Rajasthan.
