'Amreen Bhat was lured outside her home and shot'

The family of TV artist Amreen Bhat who shot dead outside her house by terrorists was lured out on the pretext of doing a shoot. She was then shot in cold blood.

Her father and brother-in-law said that two people came to their home to call Amreen for a shoot last night. "They shot her after she told them that she would not go for the shoot. She was like a son to me," her father said.

Her brother-on-law Zubair Ahmed added, "When she stepped outside the house they killed her. What harm had she caused to anyone?"

Political parties condemned the "dastardly" attack and said there can be no justification for targeting innocents. "At around 7:55 pm on Wednesday, the police received information about a terror crime incident in Hushroo Chadoora area of Budgam where terrorists fired upon one lady and her nephew.

Senior police officers along with reinforcements reached the terror crime spot," a police spokesperson said. The spokesperson said three terrorists of proscribed terror outfit LeT were involved in this incident.

Bhat's nephew was shot in the arm but his condition is stable.
