Yasin Malik produced in the courtroom in NIA court, Delhi ahead of the sentencing order.

The National Investigation Agency on Wednesday urged the court to award the death penalty to Yasin Malik, while the Jammu and Kashmir separatist leader said he will not beg for anything and left the decision to the court, reports ANI.

There have been several instances of stone throwing ahead of the sentencing.

Malik's lawyer told the court: 'Yasin said if I have been involved in any terrorist activity or violence in 28 years, if Indian intelligence proves this, then I will also retire from politics. I will accept the hanging. With seven prime ministers, I have worked.'

On the NIA demand that he be awarded the death penalty his lawyer, speaking on Malik's behalf, said: 'I will not beg for anything. The case is before this court and I left on the court to decide."

The NIA special public prosecutor told the court that Malik is responsible, in part, for the Kashmiri Pandit exodus. The judge, who is set to pronounce the quantum of punishment, said, "Let's not go into all this. Stick to the facts. This is a terror funding case."
