Vinai Kumar Saxena has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Delhi with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office, said a statement of the press secretary to the President on Monday.

The President has accepted the resignation of Anil Baijal as the lieutenant governor of Delhi, it said.
