Ukraine updates: High Commissioner for refugees, Filippo Grandi says, "Today the outflow of refugees from Ukraine reaches two million people. Two million." (That's 20 lakh refugees!) The population of Ukraine is 4.32 crore. 

The Kyiv Independent: Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says, "While Russians are to blame for the killings, responsibility is shared by those who for 13 days in their Western offices haven't been able to approve an obviously necessary decision, who didn't save our cities from these bombs and missiles -- although they can."

The Spectator Index: Ukraine's Ministry of Defense claims that Major General Vitaly Gerasimov, the chief of staff of Russia's 41st Army, has been killed outside of Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine.

The Kyiv Independent: At least 21 civilians, including 2 children, killed in Russian attack on Sumy. Russian forces bombed a residential neighborhood in Sumy in the early hours of March 8. Around 700 Indian students are stranded in Sumy, which has been witnessing intense fighting between Russian and Ukrainian troops for days now. India has been making efforts to evacuate its citizens from the city but with little success due to heaving shelling and air strikes.
