Army chief: Youth don't have info on Agnipath

Army chief General Manoj Pande on the protests around the Agnipath scheme. "I feel that the youth does not know all the proper information on the Agnipath Scheme. Once they get to know about the scheme, they will have faith that this scheme is not only for the youth but is also beneficial to all.

"As far as the question of agniveers going to recruitment training centres is concerned, the training of first agniveers will begin this December (in 2022) at the centres."

Protests are raging around the country over the Agnipath scheme.

Section 144 imposed has in Gurugram district as a precautionary measure; police on high alert, say officials.

The agitation against the Agnipath scheme turned violent as it continued for a third straight day in Bihar with protesters allegedly attacking the houses of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Renu Devi and Bihar BJP president and West Champaran MP Sanjay Jaiswal.
