The Haryana government has ordered the suspension of mobile internet services, all SMS services in view of the potential law and order situation in the wake of new army recruitment policy. Order shall be in force for next 24 hours with immediate effect i.e. till 16:30 hours tomorrow.

The government on Tuesday unveiled a "transformative" scheme-- 'Agnipath'-- for the recruitment of soldiers in the Army, Navy and the Air Force largely on a four-year short-term contractual basis, in a major overhaul of the decades-old selection process which it believes will bring in fitter and younger troops to deal with future security challenges facing the nation.

However, the scheme has seen violent protests in over states across the country.
