RPN Singh quits Congress, likely to join BJP

Congress leader and former Union Minister RPN Singh resigns from the party. He has given his resignation to the party president Sonia Gandhi.

This come just weeks ahead of the Uttar Pradesh polls.

Reports suggest that Singh will be joining the BJP.

RPN Singh was among the Congress party's biggest leaders in UP.

He tweeted his resignation letter addressed to Sonia Gandhi.

"Today, at a time, we are celebrating the formation of our great Republic, I begin a new chapter in my political journey. Jai Hind," he wrote, sharing the letter.
